Above are the dates that our combined Parishes have been asked to help in the Cathedral Refectory for this year. If you would like to help again or if you would like to join our team it would be lovely to see you. We can choose to help in shifts of anything from 2 to 8 hours! The work entails helping serving hot and cold drinks, clearing tables and helping generally with the food, etc.

It is usually a very rewarding day and we have some fun too! We do have a splendid team of volunteers at the moment but we are always looking for new helpers to come and join us.

If you think you would like to help, please get in touch with Rosie Lowry on 01264720325 to find out more.

( Living and working amongst the penguins and seals of South Georgia )

Sarah and Pat Lurcock –featured recently in the Sunday Telegraph - live and work in South Georgia for eight months of the year. There are only fifteen people resident on the island, where Pat is the Government Officer, and Sarah works with the British Antarctic Survey Team, helps with the Museum, and amongst other things is the Post Lady and Registrar. They have kindly agreed to give us a glimpse of their life on the other side of the world.

Police visits to Longparish

We will be present in the area of North Acre from 1200 midday to 1400 hrs on the fourth Wednesday of each month. The 'Office' will be open to callers and one of our crew, either PC 2625 John Viney or myself, PC 1352 Ian Robinson, is likely to be spotted around the village on foot patrol.

We hope that the regular visits will help to provide a visible deterrent to criminal activity and to provide some public reassurance to local villagers.

As the days grow lighter we may need to readjust our times but we will try to give you appropriate notice of any changes.

PC 939 Fiona Taylor remains the Beat Officer for the village.
