WINCHESTER CATHEDRAL REFECTORY
DATES FOR 2006
WEDNESDAY 26TH APRIL
MONDAY 26TH JUNE
FRIDAY 20TH OCTOBER
Above are the dates that our combined Parishes have been asked to help in the Cathedral Refectory for this year. If you would like to help again or if you would like to join our team it would be lovely to see you. We can choose to help in shifts of anything from 2 to 8 hours! The work entails helping serving hot and cold drinks, clearing tables and helping generally with the food, etc.
It is usually a very rewarding day and we have some fun too! We do have a splendid team of volunteers at the moment but we are always looking for new helpers to come and join us.
Please put the date for this year’s Fayre in your diaries:
There is a great Show planned for July 25th - 27th at New Park, Brockenhurst. Definitely one of the highlights of the social calendar, the Show provides all the traditional displays of countryside activities and a range of entertainment to suit every taste and age group. By popular demand the Dancing Diggers are back this year plus a few surprise events to be announced shortly.
Anyone wishing to exhibit should contact the Show office now on 01590 622400- competitors will be able to download their booking forms from the website from April when the schedules go out. Further details available on
We will be present in the area of North Acre from 1200 midday to 1400 hrs on the fourth Wednesday of each month. The 'Office' will be open to callers and one of our crew, either PC 2625 John Viney or myself, PC 1352 Ian Robinson, is likely to be spotted around the village on foot patrol.
We hope that the regular visits will help to provide a visible deterrent to criminal activity and to provide some public reassurance to local villagers.
As the days grow lighter we may need to readjust our times but we will try to give you appropriate notice of any changes.
PC 939 Fiona Taylor remains the Beat Officer for the village.
