If you saw the FA Cup Final and want more of the same, then come along.
From 11am on the pitch behind the Plough.
Anyone who would like to join a gentle walk led by Wendy Ellicock meet at Longmead House, returning about 11.30 for coffee and cakes.
Longparish’s 11 to 18 year olds are invited to chill out at the Village Hall when the new youth club opens its doors on 14 June. The youth club meets for the first time at 7:00 p.m.- 10:00 p.m. and, after that, the club will meet fortnightly on a Wednesday evening.
There will be lots to do – play dodge ball (if you’re fast enough!) or table tennis, try your skill on the dance mats, listen to music, and top up your energy with cans and nibbles from the tuck shop, or just hang out with your friends.
Other activities such as discos, volleyball, badminton, and skittles are on the cards but we’d like you to tell us what activities you’d like to do.
This new supervised club is run by Longparish volunteers under the Longparish Community Association (LCA). Working with specialist youth workers the club can also arrange events out of the village from time to time such as ten pin bowling or other activities.
The subsidised entrance fee is £1 for each session in the Village Hall and the initial fee also enrols you in the Longparish Community Association – giving discounts on other events organised through it.
Out of village events would be charged according to the event, but they will also be subsidised by the LCA.
Longparish youngsters are invited to join the club and bring your friends there. Come along on 14 June and tell us what you’d like from your club. You can also win a prize by entering a competition to choose a name for your club.
Would anyone be interested in meeting to paint, outdoors when possible? Without a date I never get round to it.
Donations for the Children’s Society from collecting boxes in Hurstbourne Priors and Longparish raised £117.15 during the past year.
The Society is very grateful for the support it receives from our Parishes. Thank you to everyone taking boxes again this year. If you do not already have a box and are willing to have one, please contact me, we need to continue with all the help we can give.
