‘A Good Year’

(12A) 118mins

Based on Peter Mayle's A Year in Provence, this comedy from Ridley Scott stars Russell Crowe as Max Skinner, a highly successful investment expert who returns to the vineyard of his childhood when his estranged uncle dies.  He intends to sell the vineyard as quickly as possible and put his past behind him, but instead he rediscovers a part of himself which has been lost since childhood.  A warm and enjoyable story and gorgeous scenery.  Albert Finney is Uncle Henry, and young Max is played by Freddie Highmore

KidzZone

What we did

KidzZone Members met at three Club nights in May – twice at the Village Hall and once to go ice skating. Some of their activities in the Hall included badminton, volleyball, darts, pool, table football, dodgeball, music and chatting with friends and buying goodies at the tuck shop.

There was also an opportunity to let off steam in the fresh air at the football field, with a game of rounders. Weather permitting this will be the first of many more outside activities this year.

Meeting with friends

One of the many good comments we get about KidzZone is that sometimes, when friends move on to different schools, meeting at the Club means members can still see their friends, keep in touch and have a great time. And, of course, new members and guests are always welcome.

Longparish Skate Ramp

We hope to arrange a Club evening of Skate Board demonstration and training, provided by an expert skateboarder, on Longparish’s half pipe. Watch this space - more details will follow soon.

Parent-helpers are appreciated

Kidz Zone Club is grateful to parents who are coming along as occasional helpers; your help does make a difference and, once you’ve had a chance to see how Club operates, your suggestions are most welcome.

Dates in June Club will meet at the Village Hall on 13th and 27th June. The trialled earlier closing time is working well and Club will continue to meet at 7:00 p.m. and close at 9:30 p.m., unless otherwise advised. Visit the Kidz Zone website at www.longparish.org.uk/kidzzone.

Village Walks

When the new Longparish footpaths leaflet comes out (hopefully with the next edition of Hill & Valley) LCA will arrange to do the four featured walks on Saturday afternoons. They range in length from three to six miles. More information next month.
