Race Report

Derrick, Daniel and Angela: our Most Improved Runners

It was a dull morning for the June run, brightening later to sun. We welcomed 3 new runners: 2 juniors - Katie Sykes and Archie Waite and also Karl Gailer.

Daniel Sanderson had another brilliant run to be our Rising Star again this month. Angela Dewey was most improved woman and Derrick Gardiner most improved man. All three set new Personal Best times as did Stephen Williams, Wilf Hillier, Kian Timms and Robert Bryan. Congratulations to all participants, but particularly our winners.

Many thanks to our team of volunteers: the Emmas, Ben, Steve, Pauline and Charlee. Thanks to Jim for the cake and to the Cricket Club for the lovely venue.

By popular request, we can reveal that Fiona got her rhubarb tray bake recipe from www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/3294/sour-cream-rhubarb-squares.

The next race is on Sunday 12th July starting at the usual time of 10am at the Cricket Ground. It is a handicap race so runners of all abilities have a chance to win. Everyone is welcome.
