Race Report

We welcomed new runners, Emma Ryan and Hannah Ross from Hurstbourne Priors to the 164th edition of the L2SOTM. It was great to be back after four months of Covid lockdown and we had two extra reasons to celebrate: it was Jim Dundas's 100th run and Wendy Beveridge's birthday.

As often happens, our new runners underestimated their abilities and Emma was first home, breaking her estimated handicap by over four minutes with Hannah not far behind.

First home off a non-estimated handicap was Forton's Dave Henery who beat his handicap by nearly two minutes to become our Most Improved Man. Jo Clare was Most Improved Woman with a new personal best by nearly a minute. Sylvia Crook and Jack Dundas also recorded best ever times and Jacqui Healey ran her fastest time in nearly 8 years. Well done all!

Thanks very much to Maggie Barber, Andy Smith, Roger Bradley and David Gould for helping and the Cricket Club for the lovely venue.

If Covid relaxations go according to plan we'll be back on Sunday 13 June. You will be very welcome if you'd like to run or help out.

Your start time depends on how fast you are. For your first race it will be based on your estimated time. After that your handicap will be based on your most recent result. Slower runners will start first with the fastest last so the winner is the person who improves most.

Runners must enter in advance and numbers are limited. There will be Covid rules to ensure the safety of runners and volunteers.

We issue a monthly email invitation a few days before each race and very occasional other emails. Please follow this link https://tinyurl.com/yygolzdb to be added to our Mail Chimp list. Some email systems may treat your first email as spam so please look out for it and add us to your trusted list.

New runner, Hannah, looks happy at the finish.
