The Longparish Walking Bus - See the pictures

As part of Road Safety Week, the Friends of Longparish School (FOLS) the first week in April organised a walking bus. This departed from the playground, collecting more children from the 'bus stop' at Sugar Lane, before dropping them off at the school.

The children, all dressed in bright fluorescent bibs, were escorted by similarly attired adults on their healthy 1/3 mile walk, and had the added luxury of a grown-up pulling all their school bags on a trailer. The walking bus also eases the pressure on the school car park that gets horribly crowded just before school starts.

It is hoped that the bus will be a regular occurrence - once a week over the summer. Also, when the footpaths are reopened, a walking bus will set off from Forton as well.
