Open Spaces Proposals – Progress Update and Action Plan

Proposals

Progress Summary

Promote awareness and encourage responsible enjoyment of our footpath network and open spaces.

To facilitate and encourage individuals to become involved in the protection and maintenance of the village environment

To establish an “adopt a footpath” scheme modelled on our successful “adopt a rod” scheme where volunteers agree to keep a stretch of path free from obstructions and litter

David Wright (Parish Plan lead) become a member of the Open Spaces Committee and attended a meeting of the Footpaths Committee.   Both committees are now aware of the recommendations of the Parish Plan

New footpath maps have been distributed as part of the Parish Plan document

Copies of “The Countryside Code” have been distributed with each copy of the Parish Plan

Open Spaces Committee and Footpaths Committee already receive some support from individuals in protecting and maintaining the village environment, but more volunteers would be appreciated
