The Village Handbook explains that Longparish had some distinctive customs. The Christmas Mummers play which is preserved in the Church used to be performed in the big houses, and the mummers were given food and ale. It was revived for the St Nicholas Pageant on 15 June 2013 and the Boxing Day tradition was renewed with a performance at The Plough on 26 December 2013.

Here is a report from Hill and Valley explaining how we came to revive the Mummers' Play

A collection at the Boxing Day 2013 performance raised £240 which has been split between Mityana and the Andover Foodbank.
